Pool Filter Repair in Houston, TX

Cloudy water that won't clear no matter how much you brush or shock? Nine times out of ten it's the filter. Redzone Pools repairs, cleans and replaces pool filters across Cypress and the Greater Houston area.

Pool Filter Repair

Clear water starts at the filter

Your pump moves the water, but your filter is what actually cleans it. When it's torn, clogged or cracked, dirt and fine debris slip straight back into the pool — so no amount of chemicals or brushing gets you that clear blue you're after. If your water's hazy, your pressure gauge is reading high, or you're backwashing constantly, the filter is the first place to look.

Redzone Pools services all three filter types — cartridge, D.E. and sand — across Cypress, Katy, Sugar Land and the Greater Houston area. We'll tell you whether a clean, a part, or a full replacement is the right call, and we won't upsell you a new tank when a $60 element would do.

Filter Types We Service

Cartridge, D.E. and sand

Each filter type fails a little differently. Here's what we handle for each.

Cartridge filters

Element cleaning and replacement, torn or collapsed cartridges, cracked manifolds and worn tank o-rings.

D.E. filters

Grid replacement, D.E. powder in the pool (a sign of torn grids or a cracked manifold), and backwash valve repairs.

Sand filters

Sand changes, channeling and sand-in-the-pool problems, plus multiport and backwash valve rebuilds.

Signs Your Filter Needs Help

When to call us

A filter rarely fails all at once — it tells you first. Call us if you're seeing any of these:

Cloudy or hazy water that won't clear with chemicals
High pressure on the gauge, or pressure that climbs fast after cleaning
Constant backwashing just to keep flow up
D.E. powder or sand blowing back into the pool
Water leaking from the tank band, valve or o-rings

Catch it early and a filter repair is quick and cheap. Ignore it and you're running your pump against a clogged filter — which shortens the pump's life too.

Filter repair FAQ

Common questions

Why is my pool still cloudy after shocking and brushing?

Nine times out of ten it's the filter. A torn cartridge, ruptured D.E. grid, or channeled sand lets fine particles pass straight back into the pool, so no amount of chemicals clears it. We find the failure and fix it.

How often should I clean or replace my pool filter?

Rinse a cartridge every few months and plan to replace the elements every 2–3 years; D.E. grids and sand last longer but eventually break down. If pressure climbs fast right after a cleaning, the media is done.

Cartridge, D.E. or sand — which filter is best?

D.E. filters the finest, cartridge is low-maintenance and common on newer pools, and sand is the simplest but least fine. We service and repair all three and can advise what fits your pool.

Should I repair or replace my filter?

A torn cartridge or a set of D.E. grids is usually a quick, inexpensive repair. A cracked tank, split manifold or badly corroded valve is when replacement makes more sense. We'll tell you honestly which yours needs.

Why is my filter pressure gauge reading high?

High pressure means restricted flow — usually a dirty or clogged filter that needs cleaning. If it spikes again quickly after cleaning, the cartridge or media has reached the end of its life.

Which filter brands do you service?

Pentair (Clean & Clear, Quad D.E., FNS), Hayward (SwimClear, ProGrid, Pro Series), Jandy and more — across Houston, Cypress, Katy, Sugar Land and the Greater Houston area.
